Richard J. Shea

Richard Shea was previously the CEO and leader of Atlantic Broadband, the eighth largest U.S. broadband telecommunications company, serving residential and business customers from Maine to Florida with seven regional customer and network operations centers, a staff of approximately 2,000, $800 million in revenue, and recognition as an industry leader. He led the $2+ billion acquisition and integration of three broadband and network companies in the past three years.

Mr. Shea was on the founding Atlantic Broadband team in 2003 and worked in the roles of CIO/COO/CEO along the way, both in Atlantic Broadband and Grande Communications. Mr. Shea has also served as CTO for AltiComm, a local telecommunications company and was the founder and President of Broadband Applications Management, a venture-backed company focused on designing and implementing OSS and BACC systems in the broadband industry. He was a senior leader in Media One as the IT Vice President during the launch of high-speed data, digital phone, and business products, as well as Y2K. Mr. Shea planned, designed and integrated the broadband industry’s first mobile workforce management system at Arrowsmith Technologies in Austin, TX. He was a senior systems engineering and program manager for General Electric Aerospace in Springfield, VA.

Mr. Shea is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY with a BS in Engineering. He served as a combat engineer officer in the US Army in the U.S. and overseas. Mr. Shea achieved the rank of Captain before leaving for private industry. He also holds an MBA from Boston University.
